Our Club
Poole Aikido Club was established in 1979 by Paul McGlone Sensei, who is still the club's chief instructor and deputy principal of Takemusu Iwama Aikido Europe, the organisation to which our club belongs.
As befits a club in this organisation, the teaching follows the style and methods of Morihiro Saito Shihan. Saito lived and trained with the founder of aikido, O'Sensei (Morihei Ueshiba), for the last 25 years of the founder's life, and it is reckoned that Saito's legacy is the style of aikido that is most true to the founder's principles.
